The Filettro Agriturismo
The Filettro Agriturismo is located on the road from Volterra to Pisa via a small rural road and approached through an avenue of Cypress and olive trees set on a ridge and flanked by wooded hills and valleys. The property has developed through the centuries into a traditional country house and part of the property has been divided into four apartments to complement the owners' residence. It has been completely restored and furnished in classical Tuscan country style. The whole property covers an area of some 55 acres with woodlands of Oak and Acacia trees, pastures studded with perfumed yellow broom and olive groves producing a high quality extra virgin olive oil. Here nature lovers can experience tranquillity within a majestic landscape immersed in the heart of the countryside and in the evenings enjoy the fiery sunsets for which Volterra is renowned.

The Agriturismo provides a comfortable swimming area which offers a peaceful view of the olive groves. The modern pool, built in an area which was originally the farmyard, has an adjacent shower,a volleyball court, an Italian bowling court, and a trampoline for the children to have some fun.

Apartments
The four 50 sq. metre apartments have been completely restored and furnished in classical Tuscan country style. Two are on the ground floor and the other two are on the first floor. Each apartment has its own terrace to eat outside and relax.

The swimming pool
The swimming pool, measuring 12 X 6 metres, added for everyone's enjoyment in 2001, is located behind the farmhouse in an area which was originally the farmyard. The pool has been lined with sandstone, the same colour as the farmhouse, with Roman-style steps leading down into the water. Its position between the farmhouse and the olive groves ensures maximum convenience while preserving the harmony of its natural surroundings. There is an adjacent shower, a volleyball ground, an Italian bowling court, and a trampoline for the children to have fun.

Silvia Malacarne graduated from the Language High School and the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence where she took a painting course with Prof. F. Farulli, another in the techniques of engraving with Prof. Viggiano and many other courses including art history, graphics, design and photography.

It is possible to book a cooking class with Silvia who will teach you how to prepare a real Tuscan meal in her kitchen. You can learn to cook in the Italian way using fresh local ingredients and then enjoy this delicious food in a traditional Tuscan dining room together.

It is possible to book yoga classes during your stay at Filettro Agritusmo.
Therapeutic Indian Hatha Yoga sessions led by a trained teacher take place in the olive grove at the back of the farmhouse within a relaxing environment in contact with nature conducive to feeling the energy flow through your body.
