Silvia Malacarne graduated from the Accademia di belli Arti in Forence, where she took a course of painting
with Prof. F. Farulli, another in the techniques of engraving with Prof. Viggiano and many other courses including art history, graphics, design and photography.
To paint a picture, as Mario Vargas Llosa writes in one of his novels The Secret Story of a Novel ,"...is a ceremony that resembles a striptease. Like the girl who, under shameless spotlights removes her clothes and reveals, one by one her hidden charms", the painter in the same way strips herself in public by means of her
pictures.
But the artist does not reveal her secret charms and exhibit the "demons that torment and obsess her, the uglier side of herself: the longings, the faults and the grudges. The difference consists in the fact that in the striptease, the girl begins dressed and in the end is naked", on the contrary creating a painting is a striptease in reverse.
"...The personal experiences (lived, dreamed, heard, read),that were the original stimulus to write the story, remain so deviously masked during the process of creation that when the story is finished no-one, often not even the storyteller himself, can easily hear the autobiographical heart that inevitably beats in every work of fiction".
